Logic3 Soundstation 3 for PS3 - sound through one speaker only

Hi,
As per the subject, has anyone used the Soundstation3 speakers with the PS3 and had sound through only the right speaker only?
I have the left cable plugged in correctly but I`m not getting any sound through the left speaker. However, if I remove the left speaker cable from the back of the right speaker I do get some feedback through the left speaker as I remove it or reinsert it.

PS I`ve just noticed that an update is availble for the PS3 so am installing that to see if it makes a difference.

UPDATE:SORTED. THANKS. SIMPLY THE LEFT CABLE NEEDED TO BE PUSHED IN HARDER

mrs likes the cable pushed in harder :)

Sorry about the post guys. The PS3 and speakers were bought quickly last night and had to try to get it setup quickly for a little party . damn thing looked fully inserted but when I pushed harder it went in further and all was fine....poor mrs :)
