Logical upgrade from 7970 ghz

Hi all,

I asked this question a while back and i apologise if someone already asked the same question and i have not browsed the threads enough

With Furyx not being as great as I was hoping it would be especially given its price tag, i was wondering if there is any logical upgrade from the 7970Ghz? I game on 1080p and would probably be on it for a while. Can't afford a 2k or 4k monitor at the moment.

There was a talk about fury nano, not sure if it is coming soon and how it performs in comparison. Also 390x I have heard is a re-branded 290x with higher clock speeds. 980Ti is still very expensive so what could be a logical upgrade from the 7970 ghz for me? Definitely want a dx 12 card.

Thanks. I am perusing through some 2nd hand 7970s, still pricey unless you can point me towards a more cheaper option
