Hi all,

I asked this question a while back and i apologise if someone already asked the same question and i have not browsed the threads enough:p

With Furyx not being as great as I was hoping it would be especially given its price tag, i was wondering if there is any logical upgrade from the 7970Ghz? I game on 1080p and would probably be on it for a while. Can't afford a 2k or 4k monitor at the moment.

There was a talk about fury nano, not sure if it is coming soon and how it performs in comparison. Also 390x I have heard is a re-branded 290x with higher clock speeds. 980Ti is still very expensive so what could be a logical upgrade from the 7970 ghz for me? Definitely want a dx 12 card.

Rest of specs in sig.

Thanks

i would say your choices are buy another 7970 and xfire or buy a 980ti or wait with fingers crossed that the fury gets better with driver improvments

Myself just gone 7970xfire to 980ti, was waiting for the fury bit just wasnt what i wanted as i didnt like the aio cooler.

Thanks. I am perusing through some 2nd hand 7970s, still pricey unless you can point me towards a more cheaper option :)

I sold my 7970 and bought a 290 (with a 970 inbetween), nice little improvement for not much money! With no crossfire driver issues

I have a 7970 and recently had a brief go of a 295x2 (which subsequently broke) and the difference was astronomical.

So with the 980ti and FuryX being slightly behind that I think either of them would be an amazing upgrade. If I had a motherboard which supported it I would probably get another 7970 for xfire though over spending £500+.
