Bizarre one. Logitech G15 MkI has stopped responding in Windows XP. Literally nothing has changed on my gaming rig for quite a while, was playing with it over the weekend, yet today when I switch it on, it won't let me log in to XP. Now, it works fine in the BIOS - can navigate around with no problems. I also plugged it in to my laptop and it works perfectly - can type away with no problems. Has anyone got any ideas why it would suddenly just stop accepting input in Windows? Have tried 5 different USB ports, have tried unplugging everything else except it with no joy. I don't have a spare PS2 keyboard anywhere that's me screwed for the time being.

Any tips would be appreciated.

fact that it works in Bios tells me that it must be driver related. I would get a cheapo 5 quid keyboard, then try and uninstall/reinstall the drivers - updating to latest at the same time of course.

Well it turns out it will only work against the USB port that it was using when it installed. I'd swapped outt a USB drive earlier in the day and moved some of the devices around to make the cabling at the back of the PC tidier. I've got 8 ports behind there - was a matter of going through each one and testing it. I nearly hosed the XP install for Christ's sake.

This is the second USB device that I have come accross then that does this. I had the same experience with two different 3G USB modems about 3 weeks ago.

I installed the modems on the side ports of two laptops, but later moved them to the rear ports. They would not work and no amount of uninstalling/reinstalling could get them to function again. Plugged them back into original ports and presto they work 100%

Almost seems like xp binds the drivers to a specific port. I'll google this later and see if there are any solutions...

/thread hijack - sorry :p

My G15 mk1 LCD screen has started freezing on the clock or media display - has anyone else had this problem?

It works again if you cycle through the different displays.

markf - Reinstall the drivers. Always worth a shot.

I laugh at the usb hub in keyboard. It doesnt have enough power to run things apart from memory sticks. And its only 1.1, so no good for memory sticks. . . .
