Logitech G15 - Worth it?

I'm in the process of building a new rig, and as my last computer was a laptop, I'll need a new mouse/keyboard. I'm pretty sold on the Logitech G5 mouse, but keyboard choice has been more problematic. I'm drawn to the Saitek Eclipse II and the Logitech G15, the former available for around £20, the latter costing nearly £50. Now, is it worth the extra £30? I'm not a serious 'hardcore' gamer, but I do play quite a lot, online and off, and I can think of myriad uses for the macro keys without even trying. What does it feel like as a keyboard - is it comfortable to type on? And can anyone tell me how easy it actually is to use the 'G keys' in-game (I mainly play FPS, 3rd person adventurers and strategy games), as it looks like it might be a bit of a stretch to hit them and keep your middle 3 fingers on WAD.

Cheers for any responses.

Had a look at eclipse (1), but saw it didnt have any shortcut keys (internet, email...). Was a nice k'board though. Mate has got it, and rates it.

Is it worth it? Probably not.
For the LCD? Worth every penny. :p

The macro keys are handy, due to game implementations, some games handle them nicely, some OK.
The LCD is supported in WoW (handy, shows various things) and UT2004 (tells you ammo count... Hmmm. So not terribly handy) natively.
There are many mods for it too and if MBM5 is supported on your PC, you can do some nice things on the LCD.

I'm very happy with the K/B.
For typing, they are good. Not fantastic, but good.
Over time, a few of the left shift/ctrl keys etc need to be pushed vertically or they are a little stiff, but no complaints with normal use.

Excellent, cheers.

Ooh, one more thing, can the macros be bound to do mouseclicks?

For example, could you set a macro to switch to flashbang, throw the flashbang (needs a mouseclick) and switch back to your main weapon in CS?

Hmmm. Never tried. :p Doubt it tho.

But what you can do, is set the "Secondary button" for fire to ~ or something.
(BF2 had First and secondary buttons to map, so basically you could have 'mouse 1' and 'left ctrl' both for fire)

Then you could just use the secondary button for the sake of the macro.

Ooh, I really shoulda thought of that, that's highly cunning. Excellent, no more fiddling with swapping to grenades ever again!

save your cash and get the saitek eclispe II. great gaming keyboard.
Bah, it looks like a really great keyboard, but that's it. It's just a keyboard. Whereas the G15 has the Macro keys, the screen, the 'whoa' factor...I dunno, it seems like I'd use the G15 entirely differently. I think I've been seduced by a goddamn KEYBOARD.
