Thinking of getting a G25 for PC and PS3 use.

How does the wheel and gear select attach to a surface? I have a desk with a small overhang, say 3" and I'm trying to establish if that will be enough to keep it solid?

Also, how good are the pedals at staying in place? Is there any resistance/feedback on the pedals (i.e. true feel) or are they passive as with the older wheels?

cheers.

It uses a clamp method, like a G clamp.
Whenever I've used wheels I've had to put something between the skirting board and the back of the pedals.

The pedals have a grip so they won't slip if you have them on carpet or a rug, wooden floor you would probably need something to hold them in place. A 3" overhang should be fine to keep it attached, I am not too sure about the G25 but every other logitech wheel has 3 clamps so should be fine with that.

The wheel has two clamps and the gearchange has three and like mr men has said the pedals have a carpet grip.
Three inches will be fine for the clamps.
There is a different resistance for each pedal.
Its an amazing piece of kit when playing prologue on the ps3 and gtr2 on the pc.
