Hi,

I'm looking for some advice about getting a steering wheel setup for my PC. I've never owned one before, and as a result I've never played racing sims on the PC. However, Gran Turismo 4 is my favourite game on any platform ever, completed it to 100% (with a standard ps2 controller - the merc chase challenge around the 'ring is tricky!). So I do love racing sims. I've got a real nice PC setup which I've had for about 6 months now, and I really want to get into games like GTR 2, rally sims, etc. (PC is 6300 @ 3.4, 2gb Crucial 10th 1:1, 8800gtx, 22'' WS, etc). I'd like to be able to use the wheel with the PS2 (and ideally the PS3 in the future) so I've narrowed it down to the Logitech G25 and DFP.

I've heard really good things about the G25, but is it really worth ~£100 more than the DFP? I'm a student = not loaded, however I have a job and I'm not broke either so I'm prepared to pay if its worth it. What is really attractive about the g25 to me is the clutch and the better force feedback - but is it really that much better than the DFP? Is it much better made than the DFP?

Any advice muchos appreciated guys,

Sampo

tbh if i wanted to get really into the sims then i'd go with the G25 hands down, it adds shedloads to the realism and would therefore enhance the sim. Other wheels are just an input tool, which add a little to the realism (having had a standard wheel and subsequently sold it).

go for the g25, even if it is a bit more, it'll be worth it when you play!

Get a faulty G25, get a replacement by logitech, fix the faulty G25, sell the new G25.
Thats the finance side been taken care of.

O yeah, G25s are quite AND have amazing ffb
