Logitech G27 Racing Wheel

If you're going to make the most of it then do it, otherwise if racing sims aren't your forte or a occasional foray for you then something like the Logitech Driving Force GT will be much more than just adequate.

If you like racing games and you do want to get into racing sims without spending a huge amount, then get this wheel!!!

If you like the occasional racing game, pick up the Driving Force GT.

Differences:
Pedals are quite a bit better on the G27, the feel through the wheel is slightly better, the G27 is much quieter when operating, G27's 'flappy paddle' shifters are far better, it has the H-shifter and little LED's that work with some games.

The DF:GT has more things on the wheel, which means controls are within reach, sequential shifter rather than an H-shifter.

i am currently playing euro trucker 2, would love to buy a steering wheel with pedals etc makes racing games more tense :P

You'll probably find you'll be a lot better with a wheel too; I have always played the Forza series on Xbox 360 and initially had a controller. I got some cash together, got the wireless force feedback wheel and it took racing to a whole new level. You'll be taking seconds off lap times pretty much instantly.

Even if you only have one screen (as I do) you'll be immersed in the feel of racing like an actual driver - being able to feather the throttle/brakes, make small precise inputs on the wheel etc. I got rid of the Xbox wheel to part fund a G27 (second hand but excellent cond.) and I haven't looked back.

I got myself a 3 month starter sub to iRacing and I absolutely love it. I will probably get Assetto Corsa in the near future too.

Indeed! I took 2.5 seconds off a lap time I set in GT6 yesterday, just going from DF:GT to G27. The G27 does give you better feedback so you can push harder and brake later.

Assetto Corsa is an excellent buy. Do it!

Have you considered the t500rs, I've had a G25 and a G27 in the past(now own a t500rs)
And the the t500rs is definitely worth paying the extra if you can afford it.

I've had both a G25 and G27, The G27 was definitely a step up. Not tried the others but you can't really go wrong with the logitech stuff in this area.

It's not ideal i know, if you can buy a cheap metal frame you can permanently mount the wheel and pedals too its just excellent to be able to quickly pull out and play with something i highly recommend if you have one and don't use it all the time.

TBH I'm going to chuck it on the MM over the weekend. It's just taking up space in the office.

A frame would be a great addition for it but sadly I don't have the room or time for it.

I'm kind of tempted to get rid of mine tbh, not used it since November and haven't been playing sim's enough to justify having it there collecting dust.
