Hi guys,

Anyone have a Logitech G27 wheel here?

I really love the look of it but I'm finding it very hard to justify over 200 quid for a wheel.

Is there anything else perhaps without the clutch and shifter to save on cost which is as good?

I do love the quality pedals and shifter on the G27...

Will be for PC use only.

Last question is do you think the price will drop as with most hardware in the future? No rush to buy one really, can make do for now.

Cheers,

Laurence

I got a G25 from ocuk, same wheel less a led or 2 and found i used it for 2 weeks the gathered dust for months. My only saving grace is it wenr EOL and i made £50 profit on as the wheel was as new on the bay :)

Thanks for the fast reply... So how come it ended up gathering dust?

The G27 is a lot quieter from what I've read/seen online but not too many differences.

i also own a g25 for my ps3 because im a fan of racing games ona big telly. the wheel is amazing but as BigBruiserAl said mine also gathers dust as i built a frame for it and then i have little room to put it in places and it gets in the way etc.

try getting a used g25, not much difference between the 2, and the g25 has a sequential shifter while the g27 doesnt, i have the g27...gathering dust...

I have one, and wouldn't go back to using the keyboard. It is more fun and more realistic. For example F1 2010, I couldn't turn TC off using the keyboard as I would just spin due to too much throttle now I can slowly increase and not spin resulting in quicker lap times.

I also use it on Dirt 2, NFS, R Factor, F1 2010. I have yet to try it on Blur and Split Second.

If you do not play a lot or 'racing' or sims then I would say don't do it. I would advise getting a wheel with flappy paddles for gear changes, would have that between the gear changer at a choice.

You should have got one before xmas they where £199 pre-order and now they are at that price again. Cheapest I have seen them here since GT5 pre-order in September I think it was.

Cheers guys, thanks for the honest replies... I think I'm going to hold it off as I just purchased my new PC bits and don't really need one...

Stick to good ol' FPS ;).
