Anyone looking at upgrading to a G29 or G920 when they release shortly ?

I've had a Driving Force Pro that's served me well for the last few years, but looking at a nice upgrade shortly.

I'm putting a fair amount of time into the excellent Dirt Rally on PC lately and I also have an Xbox One.

I'm thinking the best bet for me would be the G920 which is the official Xbox One and PC wheel, but whilst the G29 only states PS3 and PS4 compatibility I'm fairly certain Logitech will support it with their PC drivers later on.

I do note that the G29 seems to have a few more features such as the LED lights and a few extra buttons compared to the G920, but I do prefer the more basic look of the G920.

I've also ordered a G27/G29/G920 wheel stand from wheelstandpro with the pedal bar for my DFP pedals, which will serve me until I get the G920 later - Anyone else got a WheelStandPro ? Heard good things about them, I'm hoping it doesn't move much, if at all, when going heavy lock to lock etc.

So I guess it's a no brainer for me to go with the G920 for PC and Xbox One compatibility but I wondered if anyone else is looking at upgrading to one of these new wheels and/or has anyone tried one at all ?

Not looking to change as I have Fanatec gear but have owned a G25 for a number of years (very similar to the G27) and was very happy with it. The G920 and G29 apparently feel exactly the same which is no surprise but both also feel the same as the G27.

The G920 has less than buttons than the G29 and neither comes with a shifter as part of the package unfortunately (it's an optional extra).

There are a few reviews about. Here's the one from Insidesimracing:

I think you're making the right choice with the G920 if you have the XBox One.

I've no experience with the wheelstandpro (I have a DIY rig) but have heard good things about it.

Yeah if you have an Xbox One the G920 is probably the way to go if you want a wheel that works on consoles. The G29 does support the PC as well though so no need to worry about it not being compatible.

I've used one at work a few times and they feel just like the G27 to be honest. Having all the controls on the wheel is nice and the new shape makes it feel a little smaller but the force feedback and input feels very similar to a G27. Maybe a little smoother but that might just be because it is brand new vs older hardware.

The pedals feels slightly different with a bit of smoother action to them as well but no significant upgrades, still a great set of pedals and something I prefer over the more expensive models for games as they have a very direct input.

Cheers for the replies chaps.

In the end I decided to get a new G27 which I spotted on sale for £170

I realise it's not going to work on the Xbox one, but it's the PC that I'm going to be doing all the racing from really.

Figured that the G29/G920 will be around £300 new, and it doesn't seem to offer enough of an upgrade to warrant the difference in price.

It should all arrive today, looking forward to it.
