Logitech G403 mouse scroller broke

I'm would like to highlight a problem I have and after some research seems many, many others have had too.

Please don't buy this awful mouse where the scroller breaks after a year or so.

I have this one, not used it all that much though. Does it just not recognise any scrolling after a while?

I'm after a wireless mouse at the moment but am avoiding Logitech completely after their software update decided it would longer allow a side button as ctrl when using onboard only.

Logitech has cheapen out on the scroll wheel sensor on this mouse and is using and encoder now instead of optical sensor.

Logitech has cheapened out on many parts in the last few years. See: double clicking issues too
I've switched (literally and figuratively) over to other brands now.
