My G5, of about 1/2 years has just started to disconnect and reconnect with the usual beep sound confirming the disconnect/connect.

Whats the best plan of action from here?

P.S Not using logitech drivers for the g5 - will this have an effect?

I have the same thing with my Microsoft Habu. I think its most likely going to be the cable (I know mine is). Try keeping the mouse still and bend the cable slightly, at the front of the mouse and I bet you will get the disconnect/reconnect sound.

I'm RMA'ing mine back to MS as its got a 3 year warranty and I only got it at Christmas. My friend had the same thing happen to his Logitech Mouse. If it is the cable and the mouse is still under warranty, then I'd contact Logitech for a replacement.

If I remember rightly, my friend just had to cut of the USB connector and send that back to them or something.

Hope that helps :)

Yea it just disconnected when I bent the lead at the front of the mouse, isit 3 years standard warranty with logitech, whats the procedure in terms of returns? Do I need to send it to them first before I get a replacement, if so thats pretty rubbish being without a mouse for a week.....

Logitech are good with returns, most people just have to send pictures of you destroying the mouse. I cannot remember if they send a new mouse out first though.

The G5 that I got from ocuk and arrived yesterday has stopped working today :( only the buttons work, the pointer does not move at all?

I tried it in XP too and then my brothers PC.. does this mean it is a hardware fault? :'(
