Ive had this problem for a long time now but only recently has it been starting to annoy me. Basicaly the mousewheel has noticible 'clicks' when turned, not only in sound but in feel too, the problem is that the mousehweel up and down functions dont activate on the 'click'.
Its hard to explain, but say i slowly rotate the mousewheel down, very slowly. after a couple mm of turning it could scroll down the page, then a few mm later on the rotation, it could 'click'. The problem is that because the point at which the mouse activates the action is between the clicks and not on the clicks, i could gently rest my finger on the mousewheel and lightly press up and down (but without going past a click) and it would scroll up and down 1 line.
This is starting to annoy me because as i scroll down a page i could stop scrolling to read something and leave my finger on the mousewheel, and even the slightest movement could scroll me up or down even without going past a 'click'.
What i want to know is if this is a common problem, and if it can be solved? im guessing its a hardware defect or something and that the 'clicks' arnt alligned with the contacts that activate the mousewheel up or down function.
