As the Setpoint software for my Performance MX stops working randomly I was looking at the G602 as a possible replacement.

The G700/G700s have battery life issues and I need a wireless mouse not a "wireless mouse that has to be plugged in all the time".

Anyone got any opinions on the G602, does the software work 100% and not crash randomly like the Performance MX?

Thanks...

I've had the Performance MX and never had any software crashes, mum has one on an older pc and again no issues?

And I've also had the G700 and you're right, that thing eats batteries for breakfast, and interestingly enough I'm about to buy the G602 soon as well.

I know it doesn't help much but maybe the mouse is defective or a system problem?

Well its not crashes exactly but every now and then my mouse buttons such as forward/back/zoom/document flip stop working, and if I quit and restart setpoint it works again.

The main buttons (left click/right click/middle button) still work when this happens so its not like the mouse isn't functional but its still really annoying.

@ Space Monkey, That is a sore point with a certain user here.

I had MX Performance and now G700s both poor on battery and both kind of erratic in Windows use.

The 602 will last long on battery as that is primarily what it is marketed for.

The quality is no longer there like the MX700/MX1000 < best ever.

I had issues with an MX mouse, random freezes, etc, so I got a g710 wired keyboard, plus a g602s mouse, which means setpoint is totally replaced by the G software.

I've had no issues at all, it's been flawless, the mouse is great, the battery life is excellent, and it just works..

Their old MX stuff is hot and missed, I had the Bluetooth version, which froze randomly, needing unplugging to cure some issues, so it's been like night and day going to the g series.
