Logitech G602 or other?

Recently purchased an MX Master for work but unfortunately had to send it back. The middle mouse click is too difficult to do without spinning the wheel at the same time, and I use the middle mouse button as much as the left and right. I tried reassigning it to the middle button and one of the side buttons but they're all set way too far back to be comfortable.

My dirt cheap 'gaming' mouse at home, I think a Trust, has a wheel I can click without rolling it, but I'd like something a bit more ergonomic and quality like the MX Master.

How is the G602 considering the above points? Has more better placed side buttons by the looks of it if the wheel isn't an option for good middle clicking. Any alternatives I should also consider?

I've got both a G602 and a G700 and both are great but I would say go with the G602 as it feels slightly better to me for middle button clicking as it's a bit stiffer.

I picked up a G602 around this time last year from amazon for £43 so keep a look out because it does come up every now and then cheap. Its a nice little mouse and if I`m honest I`m impressed with it. I don't have the reciever that far from the mouse as it site just behind the monitor so its fairly close but it has never let me down. Batteries also seem to last for ages even when using it in performance mode rather than endurance. I think I have replace the batteries a couple of time over the last 12 months but I am using the PC for at least a couple of hours every day if not more.

Yep fan of G602 here. Used to run the G500s and find this to be a nice replacement. Like others the batteries have surprisingly lasted ages and it seems fairly accurate. very happy with it.

Ok I'll get a 602 on order and see how it is. Hopefully with all the side buttons I can map a few handy things as well. I'm so used to just using a Wacom pen with right and middle click just as easy as each other it's got to be a pretty good mouse!

Let me know how you get on if you would im looking for a replacement for my ageing G5 lol had it about 8 odd years and still going strong however the car took a liking to the cable and its now a bit battered but still working lol.

Just arrived and plugged in - Immediately more suitable than the MX Master. Going to put it through its paces today but other than the lack of the fancy spinning scroll wheel everything else about this mouse seems better. Middle clicking the mouse button is way easier, and if I don't fancy that I can map it too any one of 6 other buttons on the side. The material is nicer, a bit more grippy, and because you can switch the dpi on the fly so easily you can put the mouse into a pseudo 'precision mode' with a couple of clicks, which is great.

So far so good!

Had a week with it now and still liking it. Odd observation but my hand gets a bit sweatier with a larger mouse :S Had some issues with the pointer skipping a bit but used the extension cable to put the dongle in direct sight of the mouse which seems to have sorted it. Bought a new bigger mouse mat too which is better with dual monitors.

Most importantly I can switch easily between all 3 mouse clicks without accidentally rolling the wheel, which was the main thing it had to do. Unfortunately I wouldn't say it's £50 better than my £13 Trust mouse at home but sod it, maybe I just got lucky with that one.

Now to see if the Microsoft designer bluetooth keyboard can replace my Apple one and we're set.
