Logitech G7 mouse upgrage question?

Currently I have a Logitech MX1000 laser mouse, damn good mouse but it has a very small lag when playing games compared to my previous wired mouse (Intellimouse Explorer v3).

I previously tried an MX900 but that was just unuseable for games.

Can someone who has a G7 tell me if there is any percievable lag, even better would be someone who has upgraded from a MX1000 to a G7, is it worth the outlay or is the lag still apparent?

I've got the G5 myself but a couple of my clan mates have the G7 and they say there is no lag. If you're unsure get the G5 you won't regret it.
