Hi Guys,

Getting back on my PC after getting Windows 7 and realised I have quite a lot of remotes just for my PC (5 in all) so thought it might be an excuse to get one of those intelligent remotes that learn each of the remotes functions so Im ultimately left with 2 remotes (including PS3 one).

Ive heard of the Logitech Harmony range and quite happy to get one of those (say £100 max) but I thought Id find out what other intelligent remotes are out there and what peoples experiences are with the Harmony range.

In case it matters the remotes I want to combine are:

5.1 speakers remote
MCE remote
iMon remote
ATV card remote
DTV card remote
VM remote
TV remote etc...

Need it to switch on/off those devices aswell as do everything else the remotes do (i.e. Speaker one lets me test each speaker)

I know I dont use each remote 24/7 - just using the desk space they take as an excuse to upgrade!

My first Harmony was the 525, lovely design and good for 10 devices - recommended. After one coffee spill too many some buttons failed so I replaced it with a Harmony One, a fine controller if you are happy with the touch screen vs hard buttons on the 525.

I think the 525 is the better physical design, it is beautifully balanced, but I lived with it for several years so probably have a bias. It's hard to go wrong with either so long as you're willing to put a little effort into the configuration.

Very tempted to pick up the Harmony One - whats the going rate for this as the RRP is way over £100 :(

Im also sure another company made such remotes and were considered more flexible than the Harmony range when I last looked - just cant remember their name...

Im bumping this as Im thinking of getting one for Xmas and want to make sure which of the range is bet for me - Im known to upsell myself very easily...

Not sure I could justify the price of the harmony one, but the 525 looks like a better bet (some good deals on now too). Tempted to give it a go, though it'd only be replacing MCE, TV and DVD atm.

Yeah Im finding it hard to sink nearly £100 into a remote, but the Harmony One does look very nice...

The 525 and 555 also seem to fit the bill (control over 7 items I need) but I dont know what the difference between those two are (except for different colour backlight and one contrls 10 the other 15)...

Might just wait for the One to hit rock bottom again and snap it up - would only be £25 more than the 525/555 then :p

I've bought a harmony one in Feb and its been brilliant. I paid a lot less back then as it was being discounted.
