I have a Logitech smart control (hub + remote) that I bought in 2013 I think. I'm now thinking about upgrading the remote to the ultimate one as I'd like the idea of a touch screen.

However, I wanted to see if the Hub I already have is compatible with the newer remote and so saves me having to buy the ultimate home bundle.

Slightly off topic Alex so forgive me, but have you tried an Ultimate before? The only reason I ask is, I received an Ultimate to replace a Harmony One under warranty. Personally I found the Ultimate extremely annoying, in the sense that the touchscreen needed several more key presses for activities or device buttons than the Harmony One.

I'm in the market for a Smart because of this. Just thought I'd share this with you.

In reference to the hub - I'm not entirely sure but believe the hub is just a single SKU, shared between the Ultimate and Smart. The guy who bought my Ultimate on eBay made a mistake and thought it included the hub, I believe he had to go and spend a further £xyz for the hub separately.

Thanks. Thats useful to know. The thing I find tricky with the smart is remembering which button does what for the activity buttons (e.g. Long press is PS3, Short PRess is PS4) which was what I was hoping the touch screen would help with as it would show it.

The Logitech website doesn't seem terribly helpful in showing the differences between the various remotes/hubs and bundles and there doesn't seem to be any alternative to harmony at a sensible price without risking something like Neeo on kickstarter.

That was my only concern with the Smart to be honest, the short/long press activity buttons. Regardless, everyone has said just how much more responsive it is compared to the One, as well as no need for a docking station, plus it will be Wife friendly too :)

Er, the Harmony Ultimate DOES come with a hub but you can buy the controllers separately

Er - not necessarily. There's two different bundles for the Ultimate, one with and one without. Seems to be confusing a lot of folks. Mine came without but still showed a picture on the box of the above, followed by a size 6 font saying sold separately.
