Logitech Illuminated Keyboard or Razer Lycosa

There's been complains with the latest LIK with regards to gaming. I have an older model and no problem with key ghosting with mine, but the new models have gimped internals.

So right now, I would get a proper gaming keyboard if that's what you're after. Although I love my Logitech, it's a shame they screwed up the new revisions. Hopefully they'll fix it, but whoever came up with the bright cost-cutting idea should be lined up against a wall. I know it's not a gaming keyboard, but Logitech should know better.

I don't currently game on my PC. Sorry, I should've stated this. But I'm after a quality keyboard.

Do you have any other suggestions around this price?

I notice OC's selling the Logitech G110 for £53 but the keys don't seem to be low profile.

I use a cheap Logitech low profile keyboard at work that I really like (Ultra X Premium). I know they are not illuminated, but Logitech makes nice cheap low profile keyboards that are also easily found locally for testing.

Aside from gaming problems, I really like my Logitech Illuminiated keyboard. It also sits very flat on the desk. But the typing is great, a bit 'firm', quiet, and feels high quality. Haven't missed a beat for over two years now.

Or an Apple keyboard. a few use them on PCs. As for the illuminated kind I am not aware of anything else.

As stated above the Logitech keyboard is not ideal for gaming as it cannot perform W, Shift and Space at the same time, which is used mainly in FPS. You can remap keys in game to avoid this but it is a little poor.

Logitech stance is the Illuminated keyboard is not a gaming keyboard.

Otherwise it is a great piece of kit.

cheers guys.

Any opinions on the Lycosa?

What would you get for the budget? (i.e. what's the best keyboard for this budget)

I have a Lycosa, I've been quite disappointed with it. Although it looks very swish with the black backlit keys, it's not very solidly built. The most frequently used keys have worn so the back light shines through, you can't even read the letters on the w s and d. Keys seem small and oddly placed. I still struggle to touch type on it after more than a year.
I'll be going more function over form when I get round to ordering something else, and probably avoiding razer.

The Logitech Illuminated Keyboard is amazing, I have never used a better keyboard in my life, expensive but worth the money 10 times over. Performs just as well as any other keyboard in games (i.e just perfect).

The keys just feel like nothing else. Personally I wish they would offer the same keyboard without the almost pointless but very cool looking LEDs for a lower price.

Yeah, best keyboard I've used as far as typing goes. Very well built and looks great. Gaming is good as well (apart from the aforementioned key ghosting issue with the new revisions) and it's taking years of gaming abuse very well.

It's a sort of midway between the LIK and the standard keyboards. For the price, it's the best I've used as well :) Much better than the rubber dome Microsoft / Logitechs. Good build quality as well.

Ignoring the illumination, the mechanical Cherry keyboards are often considered the best.

I have a Lycosa and was quite disappointed.
The keys feel a little strange and fingerprints get smudged all over it.
Also the touch pad for volume etc doesn't work with all programmes. When ever I try to adjust the sound on spotify if opens up windows media player which is a right pain.

They're both sweet looking keyboards! Thank you all for your feedback. Much appreciated.

Cheers. Exactly what I wanted to hear :)

If my Logitech ever does wear out I'm going to contact them and most likely will get another one sent - best service in the industry and I feel the best products a combo which can't be beat :).
