Logitech K750 Solar Powered KB

Dvorak is just wrong though, just wrong!

Its so much better. I've only been using it for the last 6 months and I can already type faster than I ever did on qwerty. I make less mistakes and long typing sessions are less tiring.

Still each to their own but using qwerty is like buying your pc from "that purple shirt place" ;)

Anyway back to the keyboard. Is it true that it will charge using light from the screen alone?

Yes that is correct but of course the weaker the light source the slower the charge.

If you smash keys like an Ogre while typing then yes, I can seem them being called flimsy but they're no different to other stands really, they retract and eject with springy feedback and don't flop about either.

Pressing down on the centre of the keyboard when raised there is minor flexing which is to be expected given the thinness of it although you need to apply some pressure!

Cheers for the info.

Using a K340 and Performance MX Darkfield Mouse. If the quality is up to this standard I will be very pleased.

Narrowed my choice down to the K750 and Illuminated wired version. Khaaan!, could you see if the K750 suffers from this problem? Weird how some suffer from it and some don't :(.

EDIT: Should be able to test it here.

All key combos appear to work but will try it on that site when I get home in a bit.

It's certainly perfect for gaming :p

That keyboard does look lovely. I tried the logitech Illuminated keyboard which looks very similar, just wired.

I had to return it though as it suffered the problem you mentioned when playing FPS. Whilst moving forwards with "w" I couldn't walk with "shift" and jump at the same time etc.

It's a shame as it was really, really nice to type on! Better than any keyboard or laptop/macbook I've used. Now I'm using a G510 which doesn't look as elegant but does the job for me as a gamer.

Yeah, it's a shame the Illuminated wired suffers from that problem, really nice to feel to it comparing it to other laptop / low profile style keyboards.

I don't think the K750 uses the same 'PerfectStroke' technology, but Khaaan! and Castiel seem more than pleased with it.

As you can see, plenty of combinations are available for the FPS Gamer :p

Good review, I agree pretty much on all points. I am more than happy with mine (even if I paid full price) and the Solar app just never get boring.....

ahh but the diNovo cordless and edge didnt :p

but yeah, very nice looking keyboard. I love the keys and that key style in general, it sets them apart from regular keyboards. uberoptions should still work btw, looking at the uber site it's only the oddball versions of setpoint that you have to install for the g9 mice that it doesnt work with. I've no idea why logitech have a completely separate version for these mice lol.

Ah excellent, just trying uBerOptions now :D

Edit*

Nope uBerOptions won't work, the folder/file layout on the latest Setpoint is different and the structure doesn't match what uBerOptions is looking for.

Well done Khan, I agree with everything you said... so far it is the nicest keyboard to type on that I have had, the keys are very similar in design to the wireless illuminated but better spaced.

I love how thin it is too and how quite the keys are, they do say its like laptop keys and I never really saw that in the past when they made that comment but I can see it in this one.

I give it an 8/10

Since im a lighting freak it would get 9.5/10 for backlighting :D

Just an update.
Received the keyboard today and so far very impressed. Quality is excellent with nice action on the keys. I tend to keep things dark while working so I have minimal lighting but I'm still showing around 50 Lux with the Solar App which is above the sad face. Will see how it goes. Currently at 100%.

Very strange coming from the K340 but I'm sure I will get used to it.

Thanks for the headsup on this keyboard.
