Hey guys, looking for opinions on these two keyboards, as I can't decide myself.

Thoughts so far:

K750:

I like the fact that on the K750 you never have to worry about batteries, and I like the apple keyboard keyset.

I dislike the fact that the entire thing uses that ****** glossy 'easy scratch co' plastic, and that it isn't illuminated.

K800:

Imo looks better as it doesn't use as much of that glossy plastic, and has illumination.

I HATE the stupid 'plug in to charge!' system. Seems like you'd just be better off with a wired keyboard if you needed to do that every few days or so (don't know how long the charge lasts but it'll end up going that way)

I've just purchased the K750 & that plastic coating is just a plastic/pvc sheet stuck on top of they board, does look cheap & not the high quality of the Dinovo which is a glossy hard upper layer. Apart from that, functionality is great, I like the key spacing & the feel, also much more responsive in controlling volume compared to my older MS KB.

The Solar works great & chose this mainly for the fact I wanted wireless but didn't want the hassle of batteries. My room is not in direct sunlight but the solar app shows that it is more than enough to keep the charge going.

So yes, disappointed with the build quality of the surface layer of the K750, but everything below that works great.

I have the wireless K800. Love it. The plugging into charge thing isn't a problem at all. I thought it would have bugged me, but it really doesn't. It get's hammered everyday and it only needs charging every week at the very most. Only takes an hour or so. I usually leave it on over night however and unplug it in the morning.

Illumination is excellent, couldn't live without it. It's got the matte finish on the bottom, no finger prints and it's low profile keys are easy to type on.

^^ took me 3 seconds to type all that.... I joke of course!

Does it come with a USB charge cable, or can you also plug it into the mains to charge? (Kinda like the MX Performance I think)

If you can do that, then I think I'm sold on that. Illumination + stylish keyboard = win.

The finish on the K750 would annoy the hell out of me since I've met that kind of plastic before and my OCD commands me to become furious at tiny surface scratches. Have no idea why they continue to use that ****ty plastic.

The finish of the top glossy layer isn't all "that" bad. It's easy to clean and maintain and only under direct sunlight can you see any surface marring. You get this on anything plastic and glossy though, phones included. Under normal daylight it isn't obvious at all.

The functionality alone of tee Solar cells and 2 months usage in complete darkness are selling points alone but then there is the comfortable keys, the slimness and the key feedback to boot....

I don't know why illuminated keys are so important to a lot of people either, I often game/browse in the dark and never have a problem knowing what I am typing.

My K750 is several months old now and still looks new.

There's no mains charging. It comes with it's own custom USB cable, plug it directly into a usb port from the keyboard.

Buy it :)

Oh damn... I would have preferred it if it had mains charging, don't like leaving the PC on overnight when I don't need to.

(Kind of same reason I'm thinking of getting the M505 over the Performance MX - what's the point of wireless if you need to plug it into USB so damn often?)

Still, I'll give it some thought. Thanks.

Update:

I'm probably going to go for the K750 after all. I wanted a wireless keyboard because I'm tired of the wires - so what's the point of getting one you have to plug in every week?

I would have probably gone for the K800 if the battery life had been longer than a week. :/
