Hi,

Last Friday someone knocked their whole drink (alcohol) over my Logitech G11 keyboard. It stopped working, so yesterday morning I took it in the shower with me and gave it a good clean with water (no soap) and it's now working again just how it used to.

But I am worried, will the metal parts inside start to rust? Should I treat it with anything?

Cheers!

LoL! The things people get up to in their private lives is quite amazingly funny.

WD40?

SERIOUSLY!

First things first, giving it a wash is fine, I known of people putting their keyboards in the dish washer all the time (quick wash - no heat).

If you did wet wash it, it needs time in an airing cupboard or on a towel on a radiator for a week or two. otherwise the moisture that is in there may damage your keyboard.

Original source, mint and tea tree is my favorite :D

It's all about the XX Mint!

Ahh we don't have a dishwasher and the only way to get warm water is from our shower or our various kettles. Maybe I shouldn't have used hot water?

Anyway you're probably right and I've unplugged it & put it on top of my desktop to dry it out as we don't have radiators or an airing cupboard.

Cheers!

It will most likely start to rust if you don't open it up and let the moisture out. Especially now with winter coming.
