Heya guys was trying to find a logitech cordless mouse which took standard AA batteries but cannot seem to find one.

Was looking at the G7 mouse and was wondering if anyone has any personal experience on how long the charge lasted in these mice for every day use.

Also are you able to buy new ones, if so how much are they.

G7 battery life sucks?....mine's never run out before the spare is fully recharged and mine's not on boost charge, I reckon 8 -10 hours with non-gaming use
Thats pretty week man I currently have the mouse that came with the Bluetooth Logitech Dinovo Desktop thing and I only charge it every 2 days and I use the mouse a LOT.

Using 2300MAH Rechargable batteries (I have at any given time 10-16 spare ready to go into devices). so AA battery acceptance is a must.

MX1000.

I really can't believe how long the battery lasts. On a full charge its a couple of days before it even goes down to 2/3 leds battery. And I'm using the pc a good 10 hours a day :p

Have not heard good things about the MX1000 I have heard that over time (less than a year) the battery fails to hold a decent charge and the fact that you cannot change batteries over doesnt appeal to me.

A question about the G7: Does it come with a charging "dock"? If yes, I will get it instead the Razer Copperhead

I think there is a seperate device built into the USB that goes into the computer that charges the battery but I do not believe there is a charging station/dock.

If links are ok to manufacturers sites I will add this but if links to manufacturers are considered "Competitors" feel free to ask me to remove or do so yourself.

Click here to see the logitech main page for the G7.

Looking at the pictures I would say the charging process is built into the USB device plugged into your PC so instead of charging the mouse directly it charges the battery itself which is probably why you get 2 with the mouse.

How much better would you say the G7 is compared to the BT Logitech MX900 ?

I have the 900 and was thinking about getting a new mouse but if I was going to get the G7 I need to know if it is possible to buy new batteries from Logitech or somewhere else ?

Gotta have wireless because no matter how many times a week I clean my desk I have so much in a little room it ends up like this

Got both.

Got a 6ft by 4ft bed made from 1inch mdf wood and the inside is packed with VHS Films and Boxes from stuff I have bought I have 2 DVD Cabinets that has DVD Films and games, also have a shelf above my computer thats got some films and game dvd cases on.

I live with my parents atm and live in a rectangle room that is only about 5ft longer than a square room and WAY too much stuff.

Been using one for the last couple of days.

Surperb mouse for all of the above.

If switching a battery pack ( time taken = 3/5 seconds ) every 24 hours is too much trouble, then "Houston, we have a problem ".

Been using current pack since approx. 11.00am today , still showing 2 bars on the meter.

This is before i go into some BF2 carnage ( with one on the charge / AMMO ) !!!! :D

Mark

Its not that thats bothering me its the lack of info on how to get more batteries for when the ones you have start to die.

I cant find anywhere to buy more batteries ???

yeah but the fact that the battery is built in in the MX1000 means if it goes wrong you gotta buy a new one :(

Has anyone here been able to get extra batteries for the G7 ?

I only ask as on the weekends the Logitech Lines are closed :(

Don`t think you can go wrong with the MX1000,mine gets really heavy use because i do a lot of modding/painting in photoshop, had it since launch and it`s still good for a full week`s use on one charge,as mentioned above though, just whack it on the charger every now and then. One of the best things i`ve spent my money on :D

Yeah was looking at *** MX1000 in PCWorld (Who incidentally do not stock the G7 WTF) and I did not like the thumb bit that sticks out as I have gotten used to the feel of the MX900 which is pretty much Logitech's standard design for their mice lol.

Was trying to find a local shop that stocks the G7 but tried in Curry's Dixon's but alas cant find any high street retailers that do it :(

On another note I got on the phone to Logitech today and asked them and they said that if the batteries for the G7 start to lose effectiveness they will send out new batteries :)

I must admit most of my 3rd party controllers (ie keyboard, mouse, gamepads) have all been logitech and i must say their TS is pretty hard to beat IMO.

I had a problem with the Logitech Cordless Joystick and they said just snip the end of the USB wire and send it to them (Even though it didnt work it was still hard to chop a piece of equipment up :( ) and about a week after I sent it I got a new joystick.

Edit
Was looking on a well known auction site and they wanted £45 for a refurbished G7 Black with only ONE battery  lol lol lol

You have included too many images in your signature or in your previous post.

Please go back and correct the problem and then continue again. WTF ???

Also I know someone coming over from America in the next couple of months anyone know if I could get tech support from Logitech if I buy from abroad ?

Was looking up on the MX1000 and it only has a resolution of 800dpi.

Anyone know if PCWorld has a return policy on products that are not satisfactory to you ?

Is there much of a difference between the MX1000 and the G7 when gaming ?

You can use up to 5 pictures on the OcUK forums in one post whether they be .jpegs, .gifs or smilies.

As to whether Logitech will support products bought in America, I suspect they will but I don't know for certain. I'm hoping they do as my G7 was bought in Canada. :)

ah didnt realize thx for tip :)

Anyone own both notice any difference between the MX1000 and G7.
