I have got a macbook white which I hook up to my external monitor along with a keyboard and mouse. Everything is perfect except for the logitech MX400 laser.

It moves around fine until I try to do any fine movements. I have installed the logitech control center app for it but that doesnt seem to have the fine adjustments needed. Is there any way to sort this out or do I need to get a different mouse?

I have an MX1100 and on the high DPI settings I do not seem to have any problems with the mouse. Are you sure there isn't a problem with the mouse itself? Try using the mouse on Windows and see if the same problem occurs.

Mac OS X and Windows mouse acceleration work in different ways.

If you are a switcher you are no doubt experiencing this affect.

Aren't there usually buttons on the mouse itself which adjust the resolution??

It works perfectly in windows and there are no buttons on it for changing the sensitivity.

Yeah thats what EVH means, Windows uses a different algorithm for mouse movement than what OS X does, if you come from Windows to OS X, you will notice the difference and it can be frustrating.

But after you get use to OS X and go back to Windows for example, you have the exact same problem.

You can use tools like SteerMouse etc to fix it slightly, but I found that yuou cannot replicate Windows mouse movements at all, so just keep using OS X and I assure you that you will get use to it and probably prefer it, I know I had the exact same problem as you, but I love the way the mouse control in OS X now.
