I've got a 14 month old Logitech MX1000 mouse. It was working perfectly this morning. This afternoon, however, it's playing silly buggers. On the charger, the mouse is showing as fully charged. When I take it off, it immediately drops down to 2 bars, sometimes to one, and often flashes a red light and stops working entirely. I've tried reconnecting the mouse to the PC. Is the battery screwed in my mouse?

Thanks,

Michael.

Sounds like it might be, if it is, then give Logitech a ring, they will more than likely send you a new mouse, their customer service is excellent and I'm pretty sure most of their mice come with a 3 year warranty :)

I'm gonna give Logitech a call in the morning. I left the mouse on the charger for about 2 hours and tried it again. The battery metre went straight down to 2 bars, and frequently flashed to red with the cursor coming to a hault on the screen, then back on again.

I have had 3 Logitech MX1000's in more than 2 years. On 2 of them both the left click button had worn out! But I love the mouse and am on my third lol. But the one I just replaced is about 12 months old but I can't find the receipt any idea how I would I fair if I rang Logitech, do they ask for a receipt? I never knew I might be able to get a replacement after 12 month warranty ran out.

Do they tell you to cut the USB plug off and send it? That's what someone else told me. They also said that customer service was very good :)

yeh they do but ive gotten two mx518 from them and never actually sent the usb cable so yeh..

and you dont actually need the reciept all they do is ask you for the pid number on the bottom of the mouse..

There's only 1 word for Logitech support... 'Excellent'. I was fully expecting a refurbished mouse in the post, but Logitech have actually sent me a brand new, sealed one. Great stuff.

Yea go with the logitech support, I'm sure they have enough money in the bank to supply you with a new one. Personally this is one of the reasons I tend to stick with wired mice. Wireless in the past have faulted me on numerous occasions.
