On one of the reviews on OCUK for this mouse says:

"you can use the spin/scroll function and still have middle click"

I'm getting one of these delivered tomorrow. Anyone shed some light on exactly how to do this as i use the middle (scroll) click a lot to open and close tabs in Opera?

Thanks
:)

Just an update:

Received the mouse today. Middle scroll click is better off as it is (switching from click-scrolling and hyperscrolling which is a great feature). I ended up reprogramming the search button to scroll middle click.

Although it took a couple of hours of getting used to, switching from an MX1000, i'm really impressed with its movement and features.

This is one damn fine mouse.

IMO The mouse could be improved even further by having a few programmable buttons on either side of the search button.

:)

Glad you like the mouse! Its definately the best mouse ive bought.

What keyboard did you combo it with?

Glad to see another happy owner!

This mouse was an RMA replacement for my MX1000 from logitech. As i was given some duff information from their tech support causing a long visit to the purple shirt brigade, they kindly agreed to an upgrade.

I've not bought a new keyboard as my trusty Logitech UltraX is still going strong.

I am thinking about getting this one though when mine bites the dust:

Keyboards and mice are not to be skimped on IMO.

How did yo manage to get the search button programed to do a middle click ? In the Logitech software the search button doesn't give me thtat option under the 'other' task options.

MX Rev here too :) all good! it's lower profile than MX1000 and lighter so I had to get used to it!

What he said! :)
Free and no problems or issues. Reading people's own experiences of the revolution and taking their advice, i use Setpoint 3.30 software (rather than the latest version) and installed the latest version of uberoptions and everything is running smoothly.

Now when will i stop playing with the hyperscrolling to see how far i can get it to freewheel??!! Too addictive!

:)

thanks,

Final question, has anyone got any problems with the wireless range of this thing ? with my old mx1000 I could operate the mouse at around 4-5 meters from my computer in the other room. with this I can't move more than a meter away from the computer.

Any ideas if there's some setting to increase the range as this is making things dificult trying to operate my pc from the tv when trying to watch movies.

mine is around 3.5 Metres but i have the Usb Dongle connected to my Dell Lcd, you can buy a usb extension.

The lack of dpi annoyed me (a mere 800dpi IIRC), but I do like that it doesn't need recharging nearly as often as the G7.

I've actually gone back to the mx1000 as I wanted to see how much more accurate it is in gaming, side by side I have to admit the mx1000 is the better mouse for gaming even when it is heavier!

Everything else though the mx rev is better - still I game a lot so mx1000 it is for me.

Now if they release an mx1000 v2 with ratchet/freewheel .....

On the subject of the MX Revolution, does anyone know if Logitech have another new mouse due soon? My MX1000 needs replacing and I'm not sure about the button arrangement on the MX Rev...

If you're talking about cordless, there's the MX Air but i think you have to be brave to buy it without trying it first.

NOT A GOOD REVIEW

Disappointed,

I have had my MX Revolution for about 1 year now.
I paid £65 GBP from OCuK.
I rate this mouse 6/10.

I don't like;
1) how the settings sometimes don't work(for example on IE, the scrolling speed changes, then my original scroll settings decide work how I had it when I refresh my desktop or switch windows or minimize or restart IE)
2) its skippy (wrong use of word maybe? ...laggy? ...skippish?)
3) it does not work on -
*magazines
*my desk with fake wood grain effect(completely flat)
*my other desk, with tiny wood grains in it. (But does work on other similar surfaces i.e. my leather couch which also has tiny grains in it)

IIRC this mouse should work on pretty much every surface, except clear glass.

So I was forced to purchase a SteelSeries 4D Plastic mouse pad from OCuK (£13GBP) and the mouse is still skipping

The only good thing I like about this mouse is the range, I can use this in the room next door, or even on a different floor! (sometimes)... I noticed you guys don't have the range like mine does...

The main reason I purchased this mouse is because I got fed up of using cheap mouses that break easily, and are not very reliable.
For a mouse that costs £65 GBP I would expect it to last many years without problems. I am so disappointed. :(

Also, I've been reading other reviews on this mouse and some people do not use SETPOINT, they use something else? why? is it better?

They do use setpoint, they just install uberoptions which adds onto setpoint by unlocking more features.

I also got this as a nice RMA upgrade since my old Logitech (MX something) was awful in the way Mr.Bon is describing (I RMAed it for this as it ****** me off to much after a while). Skipped constantly - however close it was to the receiver - with changes in surface making little difference to performance.

I'm much much more happy with the Revolution - no problems with performance; long battery life. I did think hyperscrolling was a fault at first (I didn't really know anything about this mouse before I unexpectedly received it :D ), but it's definitely useful. To be honest I wouldn't pay £55 to buy it new, but I wouldn't swap it now.
