I have a Logitech MX 1000 which until about two days ago was working perfectly. Now it seems that when I click the left mouse button to change a tab in Firefox or to select a file in Windows Explorer sometimes it is interpreted as a double click and the tab gets closed or the file gets opened.

This is getting pretty annoying since I have to reload the tabs. I can't understand what is going wrong here. I'm not double clicking at all but it seems if I keep my finger pressed down for just a split second too long the mouse carries out a double click.

I wasn't running the Logitech SetPoint software, now I am but no change. Can anyone think of a reason for this double click error? Is this mouse known for doing this? Do I need a new mouse?

Interesting I have noticed the same problem with both my mice- Logitech MX700 and 510 I dont use logitech drivers so i wonder if its a windows update that has caused it. I am running windows XP home SP2

Hmm so you get the same thing with Logitech mice but not the same one? Perhaps some design fault or something? As for Windows Updates, doubt it. This problem only started 2-3 days ago and I haven't had any WindowsUpdates to install since the last patch Tuesday.
