Well I phoned them up and they are sending me a new MX518... With service like that I'll be sticking to Logitech! My MX700 will need replacing soon and that is still under warranty. I may have to log a call about the intermittant charging issue...
I've never had any trouble with Logitech mice. I usually give mine quite a battering, and out of cheapo mice and 'decent' Microsoft mice my MX518 (although looking a bit dog-eared) has lasted the longest with no sign of giving up.
They always seem to have the edge from an ergonomic standpoint too - by far the comfiest mice I've used.
