I received a MX518 today at work and was slightly surprised to find that the pads underneath were different to the MX518 I have at home.

Old (home): 5 small oval pads around the edges and a see through bottom.

New (work): 2 large semi-circle pads and 1 small oval pad (looking at the bottom of mouse there is 1 at top and 1 at the bottom; small oval on right). Also a non see through bottom.

I didn’t know there were different versions.

Which one does everyone else own?

I just installed the set point drivers at work and to my amazement I can actually set the dpi to 2000!

This must be the 3rd version as James as mentioned above.:D

EDIT: I am getting the feeling like this mouse is going to take walk towards my home:p

Got a replacement mouse from the jungle retailer about 4-5 months ago. It was the 1800dpi version and its got 5 mouse pads on the bottom. Haven't tried setpoint so can't confirm whether it can go to 2000dpi. Does it say 2000dpi on your box packaging?

Have to agree with other comments here its still one of the best mouse's about. Love mine.

No it doesn't say what dpi it is on the box.
