So my G5 mouse decided to brake so I decided to go with a different mouse, Logitech, but a different one. I was looking at the reviews of the MX158 and they were all positive.

Lol at the mousepad.

I have been using this mouse for around four days and I can ohnestly tell you that there is NO DIFFERENCE between the G5, yes the G5 comes with weights but I think thats pushing it a bit too far concerning mouses. The on the go DPI adjusting on the mouse is a dream, and I think the MX518 also looks better than the G5 aswell.
Whats the point of paying more for a mouse that performas exactly the same or even better. I mainly play FPS games and the precision is amazing, "since I bought the MX518 things have begun to die nicely". So if your stuck on whenever buying this mouse, DO IT!

Hope you found this review helpful, if you need more information or more pics, I can post them

i had that mouse its a great mouse but mine did jam after ages so i decide to try fix it by bulling up the bits atthe front (DONT DO THIS) :D.
Anyway its a perfectly good mose and found it really good for gaming got a huge amount of kills on games like battlefield and cod 4 with it so it will help. If you game play a lot with the different senstivitys settings and try get it fast i guess if you can.

I used my MX518 for a long time and sold it just to try something new and ended up buying it again the next day, cracking mouse.

Do contact Logitech though, they will replace it no problem.

Had a mx510 which packed up and foolishly I went for a Saitek GM3200. Definitely going to get a mx518 as I've only heard good things bout it, keep the Saitek as a spare then

Another owner here since they first came out. I swapped my MX500 for one years back. Truly awesome ratters and mines still going fine, albeit quite dirty. I'm about to dump it for the Logitech Darkfield ratters due soon though as I want to go wireless.

The MX518 I rate alongside the MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 as the best ratters I've ever used.

Im on a MX518 for the second time now, but i did use a G5 inbetween, I would say its the better mouse, however it breaks v easy, I RMAed mine 3 times. Its current in a draw waiting to be sent back yet again.

I had always used an Microsoft regular mouse, but decided that i wanted to game a bit more but not spend a fortune, and this mouse came highly recommended and im not dissapointed with it!

Great mouse well worth the money.
