Hi all,

I was thinking of buying this mouse till I found that it doesnt support Macs! I read a post somewhere that you had to use some USB drives for some of the functions to work, which just put me off as I want it to work straight out the box!

I want to replace my MS Stark mouse with something better, will mostly be using it with photoshop so needs to be accurate, wireless and rechargeable if possible.

any ideas/suggestions please?

Cheers

It does work straight out the box, just plug it and everything but the mail and im buttons work fully, but I hardly use them at all. Plus you can change it with Steermouse if need be.

thanks Will, do the lights work? I was looking at the MX Revolution, more expensive but cant see that much of a difference between the two

unfortunately, the lights don't work but when I had the mouse on my PC they didn't work anyway only saw them flashing once or twice. From what I can tell the MX Revolution is nice but very pricey. Try googling some reviews of it. The MX-610 is much older but still a very good mouse.

Having read other threads about this mouse before buying one myself I know I'll probably be in the minority here, but I haven't had a brilliant experience with it. It took me a lot of trial and error to find a position for the receiver that would eliminate enough interference to make the mouse usable, wake-up lag seemed worse than other wireless mice I'd used, and I've still been unable to get the back/forward buttons to work in FEAR.

On the plus side (almost all) the lights work for me :) You won't really ever see them though seeing as one is a low battery indicator, one is to indicate an incoming IM message, and one for incoming e-mail. There isn't any general illumination.

I only just saw your reply to my original thread about the MX610 and Icemats by chance, sorry! Although I originally thought the problems I was having were due to the Icemat I now think that it is due more to the wireless connection. My pointer simply stalls every now and then rather than shooting off, and has improved since I put the receiver next to the mouse mat.

How has your mouse been so far?

I bloody love it! lol Specially the down arrow for you to select a different screen.

Works spot on straight out the box as Will said :)

I dont know if to keep the Icemat as it doesnt "glide" but i dont want to stick the pads underneath the mouse itself, so may get a normal mouse mat see how that goes.
