Hi,

Ok, I am trying to get this combo re-set-up on a clients PC, but need help! :)

  • Logitech MX900 - Bluetooth Mouse and Hub
  • Apple Wireless Keyboard
  • D-Link DBT-120 - Bluetooth Wireless Dongle

I think it was all working fine before, but since I installed a fresh windows I'm having problems getting it all running again. Seperately its not a problem, but having both the Logitech Bluetooth Stuff 'and' D-Link/Microsoft Bluetooth running at the same time is doing me nut in!

To start, I plugged in the Logitech MX900, windows did a little plug'n'play and gave it 'basic' functionality, I then installed the Logitech set-point v2.22 software and that installed the mouse and hub 'fully' including the bluetooth hub and the Widcomm software (My Bluetooth places etc).

At this point everything is fine, mouse works smooth, I can send and recieve stuff via my bluetooth mobile, all good. Next up is to try and get the Apple wireless keyboard playing.

After much faffing I don't think its possible to get the Apple wireless keyboard running from the Logitech bluetooth hub, I can see it and stuff but it won't connect, fair enough. . .

So next up is to install the Apple recommended D-Link DBT-120, USB Bluetooth dongle. This is plug'n'play in Windows, no problem, detects and connects the Apple wireless keyboard with a little faffing about, and cool its all working, all the logitech stuff and functions are fine, I can send and recieve stuff via bluetooth on my mobile phone, great!

Then I rebooted :(

After a reboot something messes up and the mouse reverts to basic function, the logitech software doesn't work properly, My Bluetooth places is broken, I can't send stuff via my mobile etc, what a pain!

Obviously its a bad idea to be using two different bluetooth hubs/stacks? but it did work before I got my hands on it, and it also works fine before I do a reboot?

If anyone has any insights it would be much appreciated, I spent so many hours now trying to figure this out I am ready to smash this keyboard to pieces lol!

My only saving grace is that

  • I have a backup of the clean windows using Acronis and have been using that to start from scratch
  • I may be able to persuade client to buy a logitech diNovo

What a pain this has been, just to save a wire on two in the desk  :D

oh forgot, if I install the D-Link USB bluetooth dongle first and then try to install the Logitech MX900 and Software it complains that the system already has bluetooth and only install the mouse with limited function (basically runs the mouse using the D-Link bluetooth = rubbish!).

Hopefully a bluetooth 'or' apple expert may be passing . . . .
