Logitech® MX™/VX Revolution

I just got an email about them as well.
Nice mice, from the looks, there arnt too many details on the specs.
Expensive though.

They really do look nice, but must admit there that they are very pricey for what they are, not sure if that price is truly justified.

Either way, I wont be getting one as I already have a Logitech Bluetooth Dinovo so im tied in with a keyboard & mouse. Maybe they will release a package deal with that at some point to try and tempt people like myself?

Those look cool, but very expensive. Think I'll stick with my MX1000 for now.

It's good to see Logitech always bringing out new stuff though.

to be honest i can ajust the speed of my scrolling with my mouse driver, so thats just not a new feature at all, they emphasise this "feature" when its jsut a sales gimick, its not worth it already.

They certainly look nice, but I'm not sure how comfortable they'd be, they look a bit bulky on the thumb side. And that side wheel might get in the way. I wonder if it can be used for sideways scrolling in large images...

Its not a case of adjusting the amount of lines the wheel jumps on each click, you can remove the rachet altogether, and as its a weighted wheel, you can give it a good spin, and it can apparently spin for upto 6 seconds on its own. theres more on it here

It certainly makes me want to give one a try, but £80 is a little bit steep. Hopefully, by the time it makes it to e-tailers, it'll be more like £60.

OcUK lists the G7 @ £50, whereas Logitech says £72.90. As it does if you click on the MX Revolution.

OcUK, any idea when you'll have stock?

Was just checking prices just to see what Logitech take for the MX1000, £49.99 as OCUK take £39.36 Including VAT. Even the G7 is £69.90 from Logitech, OCUK take £49.29 Including VAT.
Seems as if logitech's prices are rather steep.

I just dont get why people like the MX series mice. I find them extremely uncomfortable, especially around the thumb area as my thumb doesn’t fit the contour of the groove at all. The buttons around the wheel are too awkward to use, as are the thumb buttons, and the rest of the mouse is just clunky and horrible.

What exactly is the point in a free moving wheel and since when does having something that spins freely for 6 seconds aide 'fast weapon changes'? That and logitech seem to be obsessively going for wireless designs which completely negates the point in a gaming mouse.

The Razer Copperhead is a far better, smoother and comfier mouse of the price

Better off with an MX1000 then that thing. Overpriced and offering very little new features imo. Even the Gx series wasn't needed and overpriced.

See, now I find the Razer terrible compared to my MX1000, but thats just my opinion ;)

£80 .. for a mouse? I'll probably end up buying one and use the G7 for work but still, £80, for a mouse!

When did you buy a G7 because not too long ago when they were first released I'm sure they were £70 odd?

And the guy at saying they are uncomfortable compared to a copperhead?

The Razer is a great mouse, I use it purely for gaming and making MX tracks with the Unleashed Editor. As its so smooth for that stuff, plus it does feel nice.

For normal use the Razer feels overly light as if you could blow it away, but I use the MX1000's for every day tasks. Its the perfect weight.

I find it so easy jumping from the MX1000 to the Razer and back. The Logitech wins it for weight.

My thumb fits it fine (on the MX1000). The buttons above and below the wheel aren't awkward at all; I use them for scrolling quickly to the end of webpages, documents etc. It's the mouse's size that makes it comfortable in the first place. Had it for a year and a half now, no complaints at all.

The free-spinning wheel has nothing to do with fast weapon changes, it relates to scrolling through documents etc. It's all on the website.

As for wireless, it seems to have proven itself capable for gaming use - my MX1000 hasn't given me any issues in gaming at all. That said, these aren't marketed as gaming mice anyway (which, to be fair, does make me question their pricing).
