Hey Guys

Been having fun and games with one of the original Logitech DiNovo's tonight :(

I've had the DiNovo set connected up for over a year, happily using it all without the need for Setpoint or anything else off the logitech website installed. The mouse and keyboard connect to the dongle fine and work well, with the downside being that the bluetooth dongle isnt actually installed as a bluetooth dongle so no bluetooth device can see it, use it or connect to it.

However I've finally had a need to use it as a proper bluetooth dongle (wanting to sync my PDA up to Active Sync using a bluetooth serial port. I've done this in the past with a usb bluetooth dongle and Widcomm drivers). I really do hate using Setpoint which is why I dont have it installed. I dont like the way it interfiers with the way my mouse and keyboard works, the mouse movement especially.

Is there any possible way to get the Widcomm drivers installed and working with the DiNovo's bluetooth dongle without installing Setpoint?

Thanks

well i know that Setpoint has Widcomm drivers in, but they are an old version, however installing Widcomm drivers on their own doesnt work because they can't find any bluetooth devices connected. Could it be something to do with licences maybe?

The last version you can get for the DiNovo Media Desktop is Setpoint 2.2 BT. It seems Logitech have no intention of supporting this further even with updated bluetooth drivers :(

You could use an alternative bluetooth stack - eg bluesoleil then you won't have to use setpoint.

BlueSoleil isn't free though, there are probably other alternatives though.

thats not a bad idea :)

though my problem has got worse in that I can't actually install any bluetooth drivers now. setpoint doesnt seem to install any bluetooth drivers, i can't run any widcomm driver installs because everytime i do it moans that the previous version cannot be uninstalled. widcomm has been removed from add/remove programs, ive followed this guide to remove a corrupt install, i've also removed the bluetooth service

I'm just at a total loss now :(

i know 4.60bt for my setup isnt ment for yours but i`d see if it works
as i have a logitech pro3000 webcam but run it on pro4000 drivers
so 4.60bt may work on yours
