With mice like the G5, MX518 etc that have buttons assigned to change DPI on the fly... does the setpoint software allow you to assign those buttons to do something else?

Reason I ask is I have an MX510 now, and was thinking about getting a G5. It has one button less than the 510. I could live with that :p but if I couldn't assign the DPI buttons to something else, I'd have 3 less buttons

In Setpoint the defaults are assigned to various stuff like application switching etc etc, but you can either assign buttons to be generic buttons so that games will pickup the presses as Mouse 3, 4, 5 etc or you can assign them key presses, and then just bind normal keyboard presses in your games. :p

Guess it depends on what your doing, but hotkeying all the keys around your wasd keys then hotkeying another 6 or so buttons on your mouse really opens more options for you when playing games.

Depends ofc what game your playing, but you dont wanna be moving your hand away from movement keys to press hotkeys, when you can easily bind them to your mouse buttons!
