Hi there,

Is it nessarcery to have the Logitech SetPoint software open for my MX3100? Does it slow performance or stop functionality?

Thanks...

I beleive you only need it if you are using the additional functions (things like the media keys), or if you wish to use them for anything other than the default :)

I know with the MX700 mouse for example if I don't install the mouseware software it's buttons all go to their defaults.

I've never installed any of the additional software thats come with the various keyboards and mice that I've bought. I just let Windows install it's default. I loose some functionality, but it's normally functionality I don't want anyway.

You can check to see performance in the task manager (it'll most likely be negligable on the cpu usage), but any additional software, regardless of size, is going to use up some resources.
