hi could anyone here tell me what cable i need to run these speakers in digital? my Audigy 2 only has a 3.5mm headphone jack for a digital Signal but my speakers have an optical and coax inputs.
not sure what i need to hook it up.

Hi,

The 3.5mm jack on your Audigy is your Optical (mini toslink), try a google search for

OEHLBACH NF 113 Digital PC Soundcard cable, basically it a 3.5mm to RCA cable.

If you wanted to use an Optical input instead try a google search for:-

3.5 mm to optical

I could be wrong, but im almost positive an audigy 2 would have an electric flexi-jack not an optical like the very newest X-Fi XtremeGamer has? I was under the impression that was the very first Creative card with an onboard optical.

No I would imagine an Audigy 2 will actually have a co-axial digital out. So, like my X-Fi you are going to need a mono 3.5mm to phono adaptor and then any old phono to phono cable (take a stereo one and split it if you want or spend lots and pointlesly buy a specific co-axial cable makes no difference as long as the digital signal gets through it ok) then you plug the adaptor into the 3.5mm jack on your Audigy, one end of the co-axial cable into the adaptor and the other end of the co-axial cable into the co-axial input port on your Z-5500's control pod :)

Edit: Seems it depends on the model of Audigy 2 whether it had TOSLink SP-DIF or not (optical) but according to the feature table im looking at, they all supported co-axial as well (ZS was co-ax only, ZS Platinum was both and ZS Platinum Pro was both)
