Logitech z-5500 replacements

So logitech are shipping me a new set, and requested I snip the remot cable and power cable and send them to them (off my old set) obviously leaving them dead...

Has anyone just.. not sent them back? Or is it not wise too...

Just think the speakers will still be working, and the sub will be there too. Sell the bits as spares
