As the title, i have had the speakers for 2.5 years and half way through watch a programme the control pod muted itself and now won't unmute. I have restored the pod to factory settings but still won't unmute

Is there a way of sorting this? or using the speakers/sub without the control pod.

My logitech dinovo mini also broke this week ... again out of warranty

Have you tried uninstalling the Logitech Control Panel and drivers then reinstalling both from their website? Does the Control Panel give you any features? If not try just the drivers.

Probably the button, I've had problems over the years with the pod. As CaptainRAVE mentioned try the remote, otherwise you might need to open up the control pod and have a look at the connection!

There's a fairly extensive guide online somewhere of how to disassemble and reassemble the pod.

Didn't think there was drivers?

This happens to me sometimes. Unmuting using the remote control has always fixed it for me :)

Have tried to unmute the speakers via both remote and the pod itself but everytime i press the mute button it just says "mute on" with no sound.

Sounds like a different issue then. Contact Logitech support, they will probably send you a new control pod.

from several searches it looks like I'm buggered as logitech no longer do the speakers/pods and I have no warranty plus I dont want to buy another set just for the pod.

I had a brand new Control Pod sent out to me this week - the backlight on my old one died some time ago - contacted Logitech around this time last week and it arrived on monday!

Completely free of charge too - all the way from the Netherlands! Worth contacting them to see ... mine too was out of warranty.

Definitely worth a try contacting them. Worst case scenario they will give you a 50% off voucher.

never mind, uninstalled Asus drivers and connected to on board audio and works although still shows as muted on the pod. Connected back to Asus card and new drivers and no sound... guess I need to rma this.

Will still Contact logitech as backlight is just about gone on mine too.

thanks for the help appreciated.

I have the Logitech Z 5500's bought around 2006, I have the dreaded humming noise from the subwoofer, I've heard Logitech offer tremendous support even out of warranty so is it worth me calling Logitech and asking them to send me a new subwoofer or Control Pod if that's the cause of the humming?

Got to be worth a go - you can either call them or just fill in the online form and they normally get back very quickly with a reply - mine was the following day!

Oddly though a friend tried asking for a replacement control pod not long after I did and they said they couldn't do anything for him ... 35% off a replacement speaker set was all they could offer him :/

Just to update you guys, pod decided to mute itself again this time lasting a couple of days.

Got a reply from Logitech, speakers were nearly a year out of warranty but they are going to replace the pod foc and have offered a 35% discount code for the dinovo mini as is out of warranty too.
Great customer service as they could have easily told me to bugger off.
