Hey, my z5500 was working ok today, i decided to move the thing, so put the sub on my bed whilst i sorted all the wires out and put them back neatly, got it all set up properly, turned it on, and then what?..., no sound coming from left or right front speakers, i tried the speakers in a diffo channel like rear right and left, and they work, so tells me front left and front right channel has gone, next it got even worse!, heard a wooooing noise getting louder, then pop, stopped, 40bars lit on control center, control center crashed, just odne it now, pop and 40 bars on the control center, no sound, gotta turn the speakers off by the switch on the sub, keeps doing it, i dunno whats happening, should i ring logitech up, there email support aint no good?, will they just send me a replacement or will they need the sub sending back?

I believe thier service is quite good. You should be able to arrange a replacement providing the set is still covered by warranty. AFAIK, you will need to return the complete current set, which they will either repair or will send you a new one. I would find this easiet by email, it is hard to describe complicated problems over the phone. Try email, if they don't reply for too long, mabye try the phone 
i removed the grill, if i put it back on will that be ok?, also just this min the whole system has gone, no power what so ever 
a person i knew had his set die on him, he got a replacement and logitech did not even want the old one back?

It is unusual for anyone to send out new sets without the old ones back, mabye they couldn't be bothered to pay postage for your freind and just took his word for it

The grille was originally glued wasn't it? If they decided to look at it they may notice the forced entry, but it's not something i'd mention and would hope they don't notice it. Chances are they won't try to fix the old set and will ship a new one. You may be luckly like your freind and get a new one, no questions asked, email them and see I guess

i will try to ring them tommorow, i got power back, the fuse blown coz i had to turn it on and off so much, i am hoping it is the control center, coz then if i got a replacement and kept the old one i could have 2 subs running, could it of been me disconnecting it that caused this problem or just been a fault that happened at the same time?
i may just ditch logitech and go get some klipsch pro media 5.1 ultrase, i bet there a lot a lot better with that dual 8" sub, i bet the bass is twice as powerfull.
I dont know how to get the girll back on, i dont want to break the driver.

logitech service is very good. I had the same speakers and the right channel went out...it turns out it was just the control pod.
I rang logitech up and they said throw away the old one (entire system) and I got competely new system in the mail! lol but it turned out this new one had the same problem...a faulty control pod..it wouldn't even power it on. So I got yet a 3rd one and sold the other 2 on ebay as parts....so basically I got a z5500 set for free.

yea but my control pod has been working ok, dunno how it can suddenly get faulty, i noticed it gets extreamly hot, the same thing just happened now, but control pod aint hot, this is puzzling, how a control pod has got faulty, i was listning to music, i heard small pop, 40 bars on control pod, cant turn it off with the remote, it turns off on its own :s, oh when the fuse in the sub blown, i think it was 2amp right, my dad put a 3amp in, will that do damage, he said just dont turn it up loud or it might catch fire..
Also, i just rememberd seing somewere that logotiech asks you to send a fax of your invoice, i cant seem to find my invoice, i have details of the purchase etc.. saved in my email, would logitech accept that?

Ok, got logitech rang, the said that they would send me a replacement, then i some delivery company would come and pick up the old ones, i had a choice, choose betwen the limited edition z5500 coming out in november, the optimized edition, z5450 or a full refund, i choose the optimized edition, just hope it aint the one with RCA cables
