Does anyone have experience with this software? I need to access my home pc from work and was thinking of using logmein but can't find any decent reassurances that it is secure enough. Does installing the software on the pc compromise it's security settings?

The logmein & local Windows user account passwords need to be strong & unique.

You get the idea.

It uses encryption if that's what you mean. Both to the website (https) and i'm sure i saw references to AES during the session.

Obviously make sure you have a strong password for your website logon.

Thanks for the replies, nice information in the link too, thanks. Will also take a look at Teamviewer. So basically if I ensure the log in password is strong then I should be ok then :)

Sorry for the hijack, but is the free version of logmein suitable for remotely helping family members / friends?

By adding them to my account, are they able to access my computer?

Yes i use it to access my home pc from work.. If you add a machine to your account you can access those machines, they cannot access yours.

Another program that i use at work is Mikogo, but it requires someone at the other end so its good for helping others when they have issues.

I'd just use teamviewer for this. Easier for them
