Apparently this is a free service; has anyone had experience in using it? Is it any good for basic desktop support over the internet?

Yes, it's very good for desktop support. We use it here at work and have two account which suffice for users who are out and about!

This looks very good - was looking at the hamachi version which sets up a VPN network. Could be very handy accessing the home machines when in work.

Can't get it to work on mine. When I connect to my iMac from my windows laptop, it connects fine. I fire up Remote Control, it authenticates successfully etc and then I just get a black screen!

We use this in work.

Pretty good considering it's free.. never tried it on OS X though.

One of our customers software support companies are forever getting us to run it to let them on the server, seems ok I guess

We use Teamviewer ourselves, awesome program especially the remote reboot into safe mode (obviously this is an option for windows)

We use Pro at work for supporting homeworkers (PC). No real problems and it just works.

I've also got the free versions configured on my MBP, comes in handy for getting access to my home PC from work. Avoids using the monitored proxy!
