Yes.
And the solo thing should get better when they patch in the voice AI, and/if dlc comes about.

Multiplayer is as you see it, total blast.

That is utterly juvenile and completely hilarious. Waving his arms about his head afterwards … those multiplayer moments with randoms can be the most hysterically funny.

It really is great. The original bridge is hilariously difficult compared to the aegis, and a few of us gave it a go and it took us 10 minutes just to warp out of system. It is, however, immense fun.

This is the best way to play it, there are four positions available for multi-player, Captain, Helm, Tactical and Engineer, the other characters on the bridge remain as AI
