First off not sure why i am posting this but anyway. . .

I currently work in a privately owned hotel run by an ex-banqueting director of the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, since working there i have decided i would like to enter into the trade and am soon to embark on a 12-18 month work scheme with him. As part of the deal though he has just set me up to go to London and shadow the current Banqueting director for 2-3 seperate days as she covers many large functions. So i am going to see how high this trade can really go and it feels great!

Sounds like a cool job, what exactly does a banqueting director do though? :o
Prepares for, manages and run all the big functions such as the Baftas as an example of an award ceremony run in such a way. Directors also set out and try and win events inorder to keep the hotel progressing forward.
