Here at the best of my pics from the London Meet yesterday:

No. 1 Charing Cross Station
DSC_6647-01a.jpg

I really like this one, except for the fact that I burned out the highlights :( I used a Cokin ND grad filter to get the effect on the sky.

No.2 The London Eye
DSC_6663-01a.jpg

We got to the Eye at just about the right time to get the most of the light.

No.3 The London Eye

This is my favourite from the session.

No. 4 Hungerford Bridge

These are quite fun! Ghostly! Experimenting with different exposure times was great!

No.5 Waterloo Bridge
DSC_6698-01a.jpg

The white line across the bridge is a double-decker bus. I had to wait ages for one, and then three came at once!

Unfortunately I blew out the highlights on this one too :(

I tried PTlens to fix this one, but it only helped a little.

These last three all used the Cokin grad filter too.

All with Nikon D70 and 18-70 lens.

I have never shot this kind of thing before, so it was a good learning experience. Next time I need to judge the exposure better (or just bracket) to avoid blowing out highlights.

It was the first time I used my Cokin filters, which I enjoyed doing and improved the pictures where it was used.

It was also my first time out with my new tripod (see here:http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17526479). Overall I found it absolutely great. It was easy to set up and pack away. The bag was very easy to use too. The grip made composing the shot an absolutel breeze. The tripod in the bag is fairly easy to carry over one shoulder when also carrying my Lowepro Orion Trekker. Im very happy so far. :)

I hope you enjoy. Comments welcome.

Quick question - was the eye turning at the time you took your pictures? I ask, because I have taken 15 sec exposures which resulted in a blurry spinning effect, whereas in yours, photo 2 looks stationary and 3 it looks to have only moved slightly.

I know what you mean, and this confused me when I looked at them afterwards. I took some at f5.6 and some at f16 to get some blurred and some not. The EXIF for no.2 defo says 15s so I can only assume it must have stopped!

Cheers for the comments all. Im really pleased with the first three. mrgubby has told me he likes no.4 best, which is cool.

I agree, the Parliament ones are pretty weak, but I'd thought I'd try to get the best out of them.

Thanks for the suggestion RichDay, I will have a go with that.Edit, no I wont, I dont have CS2 Nice to see you back on the forums too. :)

SDK, thank you for the kind words. :)

No, that wasnt any of us. I did see lots of people taking pictures in the area with camera phones though!
