Long awaited upgrade

So i've been out of the loop with regards to pc technology for a few years and am at present running a Athlon 2400XP, 9800Pro, Abit NF7-s etc. After reading over these boards for the past couple of weeks (big thanks to all knowledgeable people here and the clarity in their explanations :p) i now think i'm clued enough to start putting together a new system.

No processor in there yet as i'm one of the many trying to decide between the recently reduced E6850 and Q6600, although going by how long it has taken me to upgrade from my current setup i'm leaning more toward the Q6600 as it will be a bit more 'future-proofed'. I've picked the IP35 Pro as i've heard good things about it and like their boards, not done a lot of overclocking in the past though but would like the option of trying to get the Q6600 to 3Ghz in the future.

Will most likely order fairly soon as i've been waiting nearly 2 months already for the price drop and don;t have the patience to wait any longer for G0 :p. Would the above gear be adequate for taking a Q6600 to 3Ghz, assuming i get the B3 chip?

Use is mainly games but a little bit of editing too.
Any other comments greatly appreciated and thank you for your time!
