Long before Bad News and Spinal Tap .. we had this

Was Bad News beofre or after Spinal Tap?

Just before. I think Spinal Tap was 1984 and the first Bad News episode was 1983. The bigger and better More Bad News was something like 1988 after Bad News had played at Donnington. As I have pointed out to people over the years, they are both real bands that have released records and played live gigs. :-)

The Bad News Donnington gig is legendary ...."STOP THROWING THINGS AT US!"

What's the copyright status with Spinal Tap these days? Blueprint Gaming (online slots studio) released a slot in 2018 called Spinal Tap. It had features such as Heavy Duty Wilds, Stone Henge, Encore, Stairway to Hell, Double Platinum, Don't Fret It and the World Tour. A lot were named after their songs. The game lasted for 2-3 years before it got removed from the casinos, presumably due to copyright?

Other games are still available though e.g. Guns 'n' Roses, and individual songs such as Holy Diver (by Dio), Lil' Devil (by the Cult) and Danger High Voltage (by Electric Six) and so they haven't been affected by copyright.

Absolutely nobody who plays in a boomer band doesn't use Bad News or Spinal Tap sayings on stage.
Only last week I kept saying to the Sound Guy "Just a little bit more, just a bit more, just a bit more .................... just a bit more", he didn't get it but my guitarist and drummer were cracking up.
Also had to explain it to the singer and bass player.

You cannot compare such wittering to the true wisdom of the Tufnel:

These go up to 11
None more black
Lick my love pump
What're the hours?

My favourite quote from Spinal Tap and because of the reason I have come across many interfering partners over the last 53 years, is the woman who does all their horoscopes (been there) and later on is listening to a recording and says "The Dobly doesn't sound right" :)
