Hi, looking for some advice, thinking about getting a laptop - notebook not netbook. Essentially it needs to be small, light and have a great battery life. Not worried about speakers, DVD drive, graphics, OS or anything else. It'll be used for mainly presentations and work related stuff. I've looked at netbooks but I think they are just a bit on the small side. Looking at 11.5-13" screens. As I mentioned, size and bettery life are my main needs. I've been looking at the Toshiba T110 and T130 ones which seem to have good battery life, anyone have any suggestions?
I know this questions has probably been asked thousands of times before but would really aprreciate your help

Cheers

all the notebooks I can think of that are small, light and have half decent battery life cost an arm and a leg :(

off the top of my head....Toshiba R600 Portége, Sony Vaio TT and Z, Dell Latitue e4200 and e4300. Samsung P210 may be worth a look?

The Acer Timeline series of laptops have 8+ hour battery life, are small, thin and lightweight and competitively priced. The 1810TZ does not have an optical drive but easily meets your criteria.

Link to a review here.

Its also dirt cheap, at around £450 its a steal in my opinion. Acer also do similar 13" and 14" models with the same level of battery life.

My criteria for a laptop were remarkably similar to yours: excellent battery life, portability and a quality screen were paramount for me. It was a toss up between a Macbook Pro and an Acer Timeline. Although I chose the Apple machine I'd probably have been equally happy with the Acer.
