Not the usual kind of question here.
I have an I3-2100for my server (media/backup) and found out when upgrading to Windows 8 that the CPU was running very hot because the heatsink was loose - vibration issue which is sorted.
It made me think - for a server I need a reasnoable perfomance cooler but the fan must have a long life so does anyoen have a recommendation?
Thanks.
No overclocking, just dependable.

Anything would do really.. the majority of PC's left on 24/7 are basic spec with OEM coolers which seem to last forever.

Why don't you get a water cooler? Then you're guaranteed performance if you get the right one and it should last long?
