long over due upgrade

My current rig has a lot of miles on it been 8 years old, i was looking at a mobo,cpu & ram upgrade to maybe a ryzen but dont know & alittle unsure looking to spend £900-1000 for the three any suggestions any help will be great

intel core i7 950 (bloomfield) 3.06Ghz overclockered to 4.0Ghz
Gigabyte X58A-UD3R
12gb Corsair DDR3 1600MHz XMS3
MSI Armor 1070 GTX not looking at changing this

Give some idea of what it's to be used for, and if games give a few examples. Got SSD already? PSU probably needs changing after 8 years, unless you replaced it. Should be enough in budget for those too.

Scandisk = SDSSDHII480G & Corsair Performance Pro

The PSU is an Antec High Current Pro 850W '80 Plus Platinum' Fully Modular Power Supply changed 8 months ago

games Elite Dangerous, & some Pubg

Keep what you have, it's still a good machine, ditto with SSD's. I've got the same motherboard, using Xeon x5670 at 4ghz
If you can play all your games at decent fps then it's pointless upgrading, keep it till it's unbearable slow
